Guides play a vital role in bringing satisfaction to travellers visiting a country, region or state, and India's guiding system recognises this with several categories of Government-approved guides, all of which Era Tours can arrange for your itinerary.

These include Regional Guides, licensed to operate within a specific zone — North, South, East or West India — with deep knowledge of that region's history and culture; Linguistic Guides, who conduct tours in a particular language for travellers more comfortable outside English; Monument-Specific Guides, who hold a licence to guide at a particular heritage site and often carry specialist knowledge unmatched by a general guide; and Tour Escorts, who travel with a group across a multi-city itinerary, coordinating logistics and continuity from destination to destination.

A policy we hold firmly

As a matter of policy, Era Tours recommends and uses only Government-cleared guides and escorts. This is not a minor preference — it ensures the guiding is accurate, properly licensed, and consistent with the standards that Indian tourism authorities set for monuments and heritage sites. We strongly recommend that our guests use only company-provided tourist guides for this reason.

Interpreters for your language

Alongside guides, we arrange professional interpreters where a trip calls for one — for business delegations, conferences, or travellers who need support beyond a guided tour. These interpreters are highly qualified professionals, and their services are best arranged with advance notice so we can confirm availability for your specific language and dates.
