The classic: palaces, the Taj and Udaipur
The route most honeymooners fall in love with begins in Delhi and moves to Agra — where we time the Taj Mahal for sunrise, before the crowds, when the marble turns from grey to rose to white — and on through Jaipur to Udaipur, the most romantic city in India. Udaipur is built for couples: lake-facing palace hotels, boat rides on Lake Pichola at golden hour, rooftop dinners above the water. Add Jaisalmer for a night among the dunes or Ranthambore for a tiger safari together, and you have a honeymoon of a lifetime inside ten days. The serene: Kerala for two
If Rajasthan is the grand honeymoon, Kerala is the gentle one — tea hills around Munnar with mist in the valleys, a spice-scented plantation stay, and the heart of it all: a private houseboat on the Alleppey backwaters, with a crew of your own, meals cooked aboard and nothing to do but watch village life drift past. Finish with a couple of nights on the Malabar coast, or a couples' Ayurveda session, and you understand why Kerala is a honeymoon evergreen. Honeymooning in India's summer, or simply prefer mountains? India is a superb honeymoon destination — few countries offer the same range of romance in one trip: the Taj Mahal at sunrise, palace hotels on Udaipur’s lakes, a private houseboat drifting through Kerala’s backwaters, candlelit dinners in desert forts and cool Himalayan retreats. Travelling privately with your own car, driver and guides, a honeymoon here feels indulgent without the crowds of a resort, and it pairs easily with a beach finale in the Maldives or the Andamans.
Udaipur is the classic choice — lake palaces, rooftop dinners and the most romantic hotels in the country — closely followed by Kerala for a private backwater houseboat and quiet beaches. Agra gives you the Taj Mahal, Jaisalmer a night among the dunes, and hill stations like Shimla, Manali and Kashmir suit couples who prefer mountains. Most honeymooners combine two or three: for example Delhi, Agra and Udaipur in the north, then a Kerala wind-down in the south.
It depends almost entirely on your hotel choices, the season and the length of the trip — a heritage palace suite in Udaipur is a different budget from a boutique four-star, and both make a wonderful honeymoon. Rather than advertise a “from” price that misleads, we design your actual itinerary and quote a real, itemised figure, usually the same day you enquire, with no obligation. October to March is the golden window for the classic honeymoon circuit — Delhi, Agra, Rajasthan and Kerala are all at their best with cool, clear days. April to June suits the Himalayas (Shimla, Manali, Kashmir) when the plains are hot, and Ladakh shines from June to September. Kerala is lovely most of the year, with the monsoon (June–August) a lush, quiet season some couples love. We match the route to your wedding date rather than the other way round.
Seven to ten days makes a wonderful honeymoon — enough for the Golden Triangle plus Udaipur, or Kerala’s hills, backwaters and beaches without rushing. With twelve to fifteen days you can combine north and south: the Taj and the palaces first, then a houseboat and a beach to finish. If you can only take five or six days, we keep it to one region and one pace — slow. The itinerary is yours; we design around the leave you actually have.
Yes — it is one of our most-requested combinations. Direct flights connect Indian cities to Malé in around an hour and a half from the south, so a week of palaces and the Taj Mahal followed by four or five nights in an overwater villa works beautifully. We arrange the whole journey — India privately guided, the Maldives resort, and the flights between — as one seamless, tailor-made honeymoon. Bali and Sri Lanka work the same way.
