Incentive travel to India

Reward trips your top performers will talk about for years — palace galas, the Taj at sunrise, desert evenings and houseboats — produced end-to-end by a Ministry-approved Delhi DMC since 1997.

Incentive travel is the highest-stakes travel a company buys: the trip is the prize, and it has to feel like one. India is one of the world's great incentive destinations because it delivers what incentives run on — spectacle — at a value few long-haul destinations can match: gala dinners in real palaces, the Taj Mahal at sunrise, sunset camel caravans and firelit desert stages, a flotilla of houseboats on the Kerala backwaters. We've produced these programmes from Delhi since 1997; this page is how we build one that moves next year's numbers.

What makes an incentive land

The difference between a group tour and an incentive is theatre. Winners have earned the trip, and every touch should say so: a branded welcome at the aircraft door, petals and drummers at the hotel, rooms upgraded for the top tier, and evenings that escalate — night one a rooftop dinner under a floodlit fort, the finale an awards gala in a palace courtyard with folk performers, fireworks where permitted, and the CEO's toast timed to the moment. India's advantage is that these venues are real — forts, palaces and dunes, not ballrooms dressed to look like them. We choreograph the programme so the wow moments land on the nights that matter, drawing on the same hotels and access as our luxury India tours.

The proven canvases

Rajasthan is the incentive stage par excellence: Jaipur and Udaipur for palace galas, Jaisalmer or the Pushkar dunes for a desert night with camel caravans and folk music — see our luxury Rajasthan tours for the venues this draws on. The Golden Triangle adds the unbeatable reward photo: your winners' circle in front of the Taj Mahal. Kerala plays the serene card — houseboats moving in convoy through the backwaters, plantation dinners in the tea hills. And for a compact programme, Delhi and Agra alone carry a four-day trip: old-city walks, a five-star base, the Taj day, and a heritage gala to close. Groups that want the singular flex can even charter around the Palace on Wheels season.

The machinery underneath

Spectacle only works when the logistics are invisible. An incentive is a production: staggered arrivals met across terminals, hotel blocks and rooming lists reconciled to the winners' list, fleets of coaches and cars moving on a minute plan, dietary matrices honoured at every meal, a spouse programme running in parallel, and an on-site team of coordinators from first landing to last departure. This is the ground machine we run for MICE programmes across India's hubs, and for standing corporate accounts through corporate travel management and our dedicated business brand, Era Business Links. As a Ministry of Tourism–approved operator (Reg. No. 5.TT.II (188)/2000) and ICPB member, we are a licensed, accountable Indian company — the kind of partner a procurement team can sign off without a second meeting.

How a programme comes together

It starts with your brief: group size, dates, budget per head, and what the trip must achieve. We come back with a costed concept — route, hotels, the evening arc and the signature moments — and iterate it with you. Site inspections can be arranged for larger programmes. Then we contract venues and hotels directly, build the operations plan, and run the programme on the ground with daily communication to your team. Timing matters: India's prime incentive season is October to March (see best time to visit India), and the best palace venues book out months ahead — brief us early.

FAQ

Incentive travel to India — frequently asked questions

Incentive travel is a reward trip a company gives its best performers — top dealers, distributors or sales teams — designed to motivate rather than merely transport. Unlike ordinary group travel, an incentive programme is built around wow moments: a gala dinner in a palace courtyard, a private sunset in the desert with folk performers, the Taj Mahal before the crowds. Done well, next year’s trip becomes the target the whole network works towards.

Few destinations deliver spectacle per dollar like India. Palace hotels and forts make ready-made gala venues, the Taj Mahal is the most recognisable reward on earth, and experiences like desert camps, houseboat flotillas and tiger safaris feel genuinely once-in-a-lifetime. India is also excellent value against comparable long-haul destinations, with five-star capacity in every hub — so budgets stretch to theatrics that would be impossible elsewhere.

Yes — dealer and distributor incentives are core work for us. We run the whole programme: arrivals across multiple flights, hotel blocks and rooming lists, branded welcomes, coach and car fleets, themed gala evenings with entertainment, awards-night staging, spouse programmes and sightseeing tracks, and an on-site coordination team throughout. As a Ministry of Tourism–approved operator and ICPB member based in Delhi since 1997, one accountable partner handles everything on the ground.

Four to six days on the ground is the sweet spot for most incentive groups — long enough for a marquee city, the Taj Mahal and two or three signature evenings, short enough to respect working calendars. A classic shape is Delhi or Jaipur as the base with a Taj Mahal day and a palace or desert gala; groups with more time add Udaipur or a Kerala leg. We design to the budget, the group profile and the flight schedule.

It depends on the group size, the season, the hotel tier and how theatrical the evenings are — a 100-person programme with palace galas prices differently from a 25-person leadership retreat. We build the programme to your budget and quote a real, itemised per-person figure with no hidden extras, usually within days of a brief. Because we operate on the ground and contract hotels and venues directly, the value is genuine.

Yes — incentives are one strand of our full MICE capability: meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. Many programmes combine them, pairing a dealer conference with a reward leg, or closing a sales meeting with a gala night at a heritage venue. The same ground machine — venues, fleets, rooming, staging and on-site coordination — serves both.
